New Club Champion 2025:

Matthew Wyles is the 2025 Men's Club Champion after a thrilling 36-hole battle. He led the field after the morning round after shooting a 4-over-par 72, and followed it up with a 73 (145) in a weather-delayed second  round. Wyles held off a strong challenges from the 2024 & 2023 champions (Liam Jones & Jack Price), who both finished a creditable one shot behind, to clinch the title in a dramatic finish.

June 2025

Congratulations to June Williams on becoming Brecon & Radnor Golf Union's Ladies Senior Champion for 2025 hosted by Brecon Golf Club. This is hot on the heals of winning the ladies (Div 2) open at Builth Wells Golf Club and achieving a hole in one whilst playing in North Wales. 2025 will certainly be a golfing year to live long in the memory for June.

Knighton ladies continued their impressive form from 2024 into 2025 by winning the Leominster Golf Club open "coffee morning" competion. With teams from across the region competing, our ladies team consisting of Tosh Hinton, June Williams and Maria Worton won with 42 points (count-back) - well done ladies. June Williams followed this up a week later when she won the best visitor prize at Burghill Golf Club.

It's not April fools !  - Knighton members have been trying to recall if the course has ever been in such good condition for this time of year:

February 2025

The club is currently undertaking some essential maintenance and modernisation to the club kitchen and bar, along with other external works. Apologies to members and visitors for any disruption which we are endevouring to keep to a minimum.

New Year Update 2024/25

Fortuitously, the recent storms have not damaged the club house or any of the surrounding storage buildings. We have however experienced several large trees which have fallen onto the course, whilst still playable members should not enter the wood adjacent the 2nd and 4th holes. Arrangements are in place to clear the felled trees; however progress has been hampered by the consistent wet and slippy conditions on the course.

The continuing high moisture levels and recent foggy days have reduced the opportunity to work on the greens. However, the greens have been cut and rolled recently during a weather window, when the opportunity arises this will be followed by a process of aeration to all the greens. The challenging weather conditions have seen an increase in the number of worm casts, the 3rd and 6th greens being particularly effected. Switches are available on each green and it would be of great benefit if members could swish the greens along the line of their prospective put, this will help the greens volunteers and significantly help the health of our greens.

Thank you in anticipation of your understanding of the current difficulties and a happy New Year to one and all.
